Project: 2005 Stripping Project
Client: US Silica
Location: Pacific, Missouri
Timeline: May 2005-June 2005

Bloomsdale Excavating removed soil and limestone overburden from silica sand deposit for US Silica Company. The project consisted of approximately 100,000 cubic yards of excavation, which consisted of half dirt and half rock. This material was hauled to an on site waste area.

This project was in close proximity to an existing high wall of sand with an active quarry directly below the site. Bloomsdale crews performed with extreme caution during blasting to prevent rock from flying. Smaller blasts were utilized in these areas and crews staged hauling to accommodate the blasting. This project was completed successfully, keeping Bloomsdale Excavating’s safety record and reputation intact.

“Bloomsd ale Excavating performed excellently during our recent overburden stripping project. All of Bloomsdale’s employees acted with the integrity and safety expected by US Silica. The communication and working relationship were exemplary and allowed us to focus on making quality silica products.”
