HOLCIM (US), INC.

Bloomsdale Excavating was the successful bidder of a design/build project for the largest cement
plant in the Northern Hemisphere — a project that would become known as Holcim (US), Inc.
It would take a team to perform a project of this scale and complexity, and Team BE proved to be
the right contractor for the job. This project has not only been completed on time, in budget and
on schedule, but it also was the project that led to a great honor for Bloomsdale Excavating.
Because of excellence demonstrated in safety standards on the jobsite, Bloomsdale Excavating
formed a partnership with MSHA – the first and only in the United States.

• Approximately 241,228 man hours were worked on this project.
• Over 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel were burned per day.
• Over 2.5 million gallons of diesel fuel was burned throughout the project.
• 4.2 million cubic yards of rock excavation took place.
• 2.1 million cubic yards of earthen excavation was completed on the project.
• 546,000 tons of rock was crushed for the project.
• The 11th highest dam in the state was built.
