Safety is the underpinning of every activity at a work site. A safe work site maximizes productivity and enables us to get the job done confidently. We lead by doing. Look for us in bright orange gear at work sites. The gear not only identifies us as the Bloomsdale team, but it also makes us more visible and promotes a secure environment. Each year we recognize the employee who best exemplifies Bloomsdale Excavating’s commitment to safety as the recipient of the Jack Cook Award. With fewer jobsite injuries and loss-time accidents, our safety programs serve as an example to our peers and the industry we serve.
Our safety department carries out a variety of duties to ensure site and employee safety compliance, such as:
• New employee orientation and frequent jobsite visits and reviews set the standards for safety.
• Supervisors and members of our safety department perform daily jobsite inspections and audits on every visit.
• Close examination of machinery enables us to detect even the smallest issues well before the turn into bigger problems.
• Weekly on-site safety lessons reinforce our safety principles and elicit valuable input from our team.
Bloomsdale Excavating is also an active member of the following safety organizations:

• Southeast Missouri Miner's Association
• MSHA South Central District Executive Outreach Committee
