Meet Our Team


Scott Drury

President

Scott Drury has more than 27 years of experience in the construction field and currently serves as President. Drury is responsible for the operation and improvement of the systems that create and deliver Bloomsdale Excavating services while ensuring business operations are efficient and effective. Previously, he served as Vice President of Operations, regional manager, assistant regional manager, construction superintendent, project superintendent, quality control manager and general superintendent of grading and utility construction.

In a construction management role for Bloomsdale Excavating Company, Inc., Drury oversaw grading, blasting, utility and various excavation projects. His duties included day-to-day coordination of manpower, equipment, and contract administration of multiple projects, production tracking, job costing, scheduling, and extensive public relations. Drury utilized his public relations abilities on blasting projects in coordination with educational meetings involving city officials, business owners and local residents. His duties as a Vice President of Operations included providing direction and guidance to the operation of all regions with a focus on strategic, tactical and short-term operations management.

Drury is involved with several committees within Bloomsdale Excavating as well as industry organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors of AGC of St. Louis, the Ste. Genevieve County board for the Developmentally Disabled/Independence Center and the labor negotiating committee for SITE Improvement Association. Drury maintains an active partnership with the Missouri State Highway Patrol (Team Red, White and Blue); is a member of the Young Presidents Organization Saint Louis Gateway Chapter, Missouri Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Limestone Producers Association, Southern Illinois Builders Association, Citizens Electric Co-Op Board of Directors; and is a contributor and supporter of Pony Bird and the World Bird Sanctuary as well as other community organizations.


Gary Lalumandier

Vice President, Operations

Gary Lalumandier serves as the Vice President of operations for Bloomsdale Excavating. Lalumandier provides direction and guidance to the operations of all regions with a focus on strategic, tactical and short-term operations management. He is responsible for the operation and improvement of the systems that create and deliver Bloomsdale Excavating services, ensuring business operations are efficient and effective.

Prior to serving as Vice President of Operations, Lalumandier held the position of operations manager for Bloomsdale Excavating. His duties included overseeing the operations in all regions, serving as the link between consistent and effective flow of company resources among all regions, assisting regional construction managers with forecasting resources for future projects, and facilitating resolution of internal conflicts regarding resource needs. He also handles contractual issues and project disputes and assists in their resolution in conjunction with the regional construction manager and business development director.

Lalumandier began his career with Bloomsdale Excavating as a regional construction manager, managing all projects in the Central Region. His responsibilities included reviewing all project documents for contracts, subcontracts, owner-required documentation and intercompany project correspondence. A critical task included evaluating project efficiency, success and profitability relating to equipment selection and labor resources.


Clayton Blum

Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Clayton Blum has more than 26 years of construction experience and currently serves as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bloomsdale Excavating. Blum has been with Bloomsdale Excavating since 1995 and has served in a variety of roles, including equipment operator, project superintendent, project manager, regional construction manager, regional manager and Vice President-Preconstruction. His knowledge of the site development industry lends itself in a very integrated manner to his roles and responsibilities. These include oversight of all marketing communications and public relations, generation of new markets and clientele, maintaining the company's existing customer base, and procurement and administration of contracts in this region. Due to Clayton's field experience as an operator, clients will reap the added benefit of his knowledge of practical applications for value engineering and field constructability.

Blum began his career as an equipment operator in 1995 with Bloomsdale Excavating. He has worked on projects at Holcim Harbor and Cement Plant, Mississippi Lime, Unimin Sand Corp., U.S. Silica and Buzzi Unicem as well as numerous private, commercial and residential developments.


Bill Priesmeyer

Vice President - Preconstruction

Bill Priesmeyer, as Vice President of Preconstruction, is responsible for business development, project selection, procurement, contract bidding compliance and contract negotiations. He also works very closely with the Vice President of Operations regarding actual methods/costs of ongoing projects as compared to methods/costs prepared by preconstruction services to carry out the common goal of a successful project from inception to completion. Priesmeyer served as Vice President, engineering services at Bloomsdale Excavating’s sister company, Nexus Construction Service Group.

Priesmeyer holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the Misouri University of Science & Technology (formerly University of Missouri at Rolla). He is also a registered professional engineer and a registered professional surveyor with the state of Missouri. With more than 30 years of experience, Priesmeyer has worked on projects including the Design/Build Westgate Access Road at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; the Washington University East End Campus Transformation project in St. Louis; the 1.2 million square foot Walmart distribution center in St. James, MO.; the Stanberry Reclamation project near St. Joseph, MO, and the Westside Marketplace in Rolla, MO.


Peter Buback

Executive Vice President

Pete Buback, as Executive Vice President, oversees all day-to-day business operations, implements corporate business plans, interacts with top-priority clients, and evaluates organizational success, among other responsibilities.

Buback joined Bloomsdale Excavating in 2004 as regional manager of the St. Louis region and served in a variety of roles for eight years. In 2012, he was one of the founding members of Nexus Construction Service Group, as Vice President of business development focusing on constructability analysis, budgeting and estimating, GPS file building, site civil construction management and owner’s representation to a variety of owners and general contractors in Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas. During his time at Nexus, Pete was instrumental in projects such as the Washington University East End Campus Transformation in St. Louis, Stanberry Reclamation project near St. Joseph, MO, and Marketplace West in Rolla, MO.

Buback’s education at Missouri University of Science & Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla) provided a foundation for his career working for civil engineering firms, home builders and excavation and grading contractors in project and executive capacities.


Denise Abt

Administrative Services Director

Denise Abt, as Administrative Services Director, oversees Bloomsdale Excavating’s accounting and administrative staff members and is responsible for payroll processing, job costing and work-in-progress reports, audit letters, business licenses and payables review.

Abt joined the company in 2005 as an accounts payable clerk, responsible for processing invoices, maintaining company credit cards and processing payroll biweekly. In 2012, Denise assumed the position of accounts receivable clerk, with responsibility for all billing, updating job cost reports, setting up new equipment and vehicles, managing equipment maintenance records, including oil change tracking and weekly equipment time processing, and managing the daily line-up. Abt was promoted to Administrative Services Director in 2017.
